The R&D cell of TICT has started functioning since1st August,2009. Chairman Mr.G.Roychaudhury initiated this concept to set up the cell for centralized functioning at TICT. Honorable Director, and Professor S. K. Roy, Dean of Academics and Head,R & D Cell, TICT had taken up and nourished this concept to promote research culture and knowledge based practice. The activities of the cell are: • Industry Institute Interaction • Entrepreneurship Development • Research publications • Externally funded R & D projects and consultancy work • Interactions of faculty members with outside world • Faculty Development Programme • Professional activities and Relationship with professional bodies i.e.IEEE,IEI and IETE • Arrangement of expert Lectures from industries and funding agencies.
The members of the R& D cell are dedicated to the Advancement and propagation of Educational Technology through technical support, project implementation and academic enhancement. The rich experience achieved through these activities is to lead practice oriented confident teaching. This is to enhance the quality of education offered by the college and its product as a whole. R & D and consultancy are two important areas of an engineering institution which needs continuous nurture. The college is trying to utilize its resource and expertise through R & D so that further development can turn the college to the centre of excellence. The college is looking forward to get involved in external R&D projects and Consultancy Projects of both private and Government organizations. This is to enrich the college in the practical aspects of academic and professional activities which in turn will influence on Teaching Learning Process of the Institute.
